The Scholar of the Year Award is open to UKESF scholars who have:
• Made a significant contribution to their sponsoring employer through their work placement;
• Achieved excellent results, so far, on their degree course at university;
• Actively promoted Electronics to young people or encouraged the study of STEM subjects in schools.

UK Electronics Skills Foundation, Sponsored by Qualcomm
My UKESF Scholarship was sponsored by Qualcomm. The UKESF Scholarship Scheme connects undergraduate students studying Electronic Engineering degrees to leading employers in the Electronics sector. My UKESF Scholarship included paid summer work placements with Qualcomm Cambridge, professional development and mentoring opportunities, an annual bursary of £1,000 per year and a four-day residential UKESF Scholar Workshop. As part of the UKESF Scholarship Scheme, I also promoted careers in the Electronics industry to young people.
February 2021ECS Excellence Scholarship
University of Southampton
The ECS Excellence Scholarship was awarded to “the highest achieving applicants to the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton”. I secured this scholarship after achieving A*s in A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, as well as an A* in an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification).
December 2019Charles Belling Diamond Jubilee Scholarship
The Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Belling Charitable Settlement
Three Charles Belling Diamond Jubilee Scholarships of £2,000 per annum were awarded each year, supported by the Belling Charitable Settlement. In addition, the winners of these scholarships received £1,000 per annum awarded by the IET.IET Diamond Jubilee Scholars also received the following benefits:
• Free Student membership of the IET for the duration of their course;
• Professional development support;
• Networking opportunities;
• A chance to be an ambassador for the IET and inspire young people to pursue STEM careers.Applicants for IET Diamond Jubilee Scholarships were assessed on the following:
• The quality of the application;
• Commitment to engineering;
• Achievements and academic progress;
• External activity – for example, volunteering, STEM promotion or work experience.

The British Science Association
CREST is a nationally recognised scheme for student-led project work in STEM subjects. CREST Gold Awards require the completion of “longer projects that immerse students in real research”. Alongside our final product, we created a detailed portfolio exploring our background research, design process and construction procedures.
September 2018The Industrial Cadets Gold Award
The Engineering Development Trust
Industrial Cadets is an industry-led accreditation which allows employers of all sizes to run accredited experiences for young people aged 9-21, in order to create a talent pipeline for UK industry. Cadets graduating with the Industrial Cadets Gold Award follow an engineering programme over a minimum of 50 hours.The following components are required to receive the Industrial Cadets award at the Gold Level:
• Company and sector research;
• Company/site visits, presentations and activities;
• Mentor/role model interactions;
• Hands-on problem-solving and critical-thinking activities;
• Graduation (report/log/display/presentation);
• Evaluation.
